Documentation·Reviewing findings and reports

Reviewing findings and reports

UXDuty proposes findings; your team decides which are real. Here's how verifying, dismissing and resolving work, and what goes into each export.

Every finding starts as Awaiting review. UXDuty proposes it; a person on your team decides whether it is real. That decision is recorded, and it carries into every rescan, so you are never asked to rule on the same finding twice.

The four statuses

  • Awaiting review - what UXDuty produces. Nobody has looked at it yet.
  • Verified - someone agreed it is a real finding.
  • Dismissed - someone decided it is not, and said why. It stops counting towards the score and stays dismissed when it is found again.
  • Resolved - a verified finding that has been fixed.

Verify or dismiss

Open a finding from the Findings tab. On an Awaiting review finding, click Verify if it is a real issue, or Dismiss if it is not. Dismissing asks you to choose a reason:

  • This is not true of the page
  • True, but it is covered elsewhere on the site
  • True, but it is not a Consumer Duty problem
  • Not something this kind of page needs
  • The quote or evidence is wrong
  • Already raised as another finding
  • Something else (add a note)

You can reopen a dismissed finding at any time from the status menu. If an earlier audit of the same website already ruled on a like finding, the panel shows what was decided last time.

Changing the severity

The scan proposes a severity for each finding. A reviewer can change it from the Severity row in the finding panel, and reset it to the scan's value. The change is logged, and it does not alter the Consumer Duty score. The PDF and CSV show where a severity was set by a reviewer.

Resolving a finding

Once a finding is verified and you have fixed the page, click Resolve. UXDuty checks the live page for the evidence - the quoted text, or the accessibility rule - with no AI call, in about a second. If the evidence has gone, the finding is closed as Resolved.

If the evidence is still there, UXDuty says so and offers Leave it open or Resolve anyway. If it cannot check - for example a finding about something missing, or a page that will not load - it says that instead. A finding resolved with Resolve anyway is recorded as resolved manually, so the record is honest about how it was closed. A full rerun also resolves verified findings that no longer appear.

Exports

The blue Export button on the audit page offers three formats:

  • PDF - an audit report with the score and the audit details, then your verified findings and your resolved findings. Findings awaiting review and dismissed findings are left out, so what you hand on is what your team has agreed.
  • Excel - the audit details and every finding.
  • CSV - the same, with a reference number for each finding.

Compilation reports

To compare several audits side by side, open Reports and choose Compilation report. Pick the scans to include, choose which severities and finding types to show, and download a PDF with a summary, a table of the four outcomes for each firm, and one findings table. A compilation report includes findings of every status.

Usage

Reports also has a Usage page, which shows what each scan has used, by audit: the pages analysed. It also explains in plain terms how a scan works.
